Living In Downtown Cornwall

Downtown Cornwall has gone through quite a revival in recent years. The addition of great restaurants, new stores, coffee shops and the relocation of several professionals offices have created a new vibe for Cornwall.

The addition of living spaces has increased as well with the addition of a new condo development at Cornwall’s main intersection (Pitt & Second) named Dominion Place. The building is not yet constructed but units are currently for sale. When the structure is complete the downtown will truly be a hot-spot for urban living.

There is also a large 7 storey condo-style complex being built one block away that is also currently seeking tenants. The building adds a new perspective to the downtown and allows for almost 100 new people to live in the square block, leading to busier restaurants, shops and generally giving the area a continued growth trajectory.

There are also condos being developed on the site of the former Si Miller arena which will help connect the downtown to the areas east. These condos are currently for sale and will have a waterview of the St. Lawrence and parkview of Lamoureux Park.

Living in Downtown Cornwall gives you access to restaurants, shops and several professional offices, but one of the main attractions is the proximity to Lamoureux Park; Cornwall’s large waterfront green space complete with eco garden.

Within a few meters from your doorstep you will have access to stretches of playground, parkland and walking paths along the beautiful St. Lawrence as well as easy access to the many summer festivals and activities scheduled at the bandshell.

Indeed, living downtown isn’t for everyone, but if you are looking for a great urban vibe, summer on patios, great food and want to walk to work – Downtown Cornwall may just be the perfect spot for you.
